Peter
de Ruiter Photographer, writer and communication advisor Peter de Ruiter (43) has been an ardent photographer since childhood. A nine-month trip in 2002 through India and South-East Asia boosted his partiality for travel photography and resulted in a photo-cd containing 500 colourful images of colourful people. Drawing on experience, he wrote a book on ‘Digital photography for travellers’, to be published in March 2004. Convinced that prior consent is a prerequisite for respectful photography, Peter added a special chapter to his book in which the phrase ‘May I take your photograph?’ is listed in twenty-five different languages.
